- The first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest is in Turin. The Dutch entry S10 can take the stage, just like Switzerland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine. Ten acts advance to the grand final on Saturday.
- A 30-year-old suspect from Heemskerk is on trial before a police judge in Haarlem for a death threat against John van den Heuvel, crime reporter for De Telegraaf. That would have happened in June of last year.

What did you miss?
Amsterdam mayor Halsema says she was “burdened with threats” after the municipality had announced that any tribute of Ajax will take place in the stadium and not on the Museumplein. Halsema says she normally does not respond to threats, but now she does. “I want to ask urgently: hold back!” Halsema writes on her Instagram page.
Halsema says that the municipality has called many security companies, but they do not have enough staff to deploy.
