Amsterdam mayor Halsema says she was “burdened with threats” after the municipality had announced that any tribute of Ajax will take place in the stadium and not on the Museumplein. Halsema says she normally does not respond to threats, but now she does. “I want to ask urgently: hold back!” Halsema writes on her Instagram page.

Halsema says that the municipality has called many security companies, but they do not have enough staff to deploy.
