Rihanna performs “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” at the Oscars
Rihanna will perform at the Oscars next month, a few weeks after her remarkable return to concerts, organizers announced Thursday.
The Barbados-born pop star will perform her Oscar-winning song “Lift Me Up,” which is leading the way in the Best Original Song category, from the superhero film “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”
The competition in this category also includes the song “Hold My Hand” sung by Lady Gaga in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Nato NATO” by M. Mother. Keravani for “RRR”
Rihanna grabbed the spotlight about two weeks ago, through her artistic performance during a half-time break in the final match of the American Football Championship (Super Bowl), after an absence from live performances that lasted seven years.
The 35-year-old has focused in recent years on her cosmetics and underwear brand, and her fortune has now exceeded a billion dollars.
She also gave birth to her first child in May 2022. And the shape of her round belly ignited during her presentation in the “Super Bowl” match on social media, after which she confirmed that she was pregnant with her second child.
However, she disappointed her fans, who had hoped that during her last show, she would present excerpts from the new album that she had been talking about for years.
The song “Lift Me Up” is the first Oscar nomination for Rihanna, who has won nine Grammy Awards during her career to date.
The 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 13, and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
