waiting to “guide it” from 2016. The photos of the project

A new restyling distorts an iconic Fiat: this time, it is the small car Fiat 127, the unforgettable protagonist of the Italian roads.

When a car has left an indelible mark in the history of a country’s motoring, it always leaves a lot of nostalgics behind when it goes out of production.

The dream of many old owners of historic cars always remains to see them one day return to production.

That’s what’s happening with the Fiat 127, the unforgettable small car then replaced by the Fiat Uno remained in production from 1971 to 1983.

This two-door simple and rustic but solid air it transported nearly a million Italians in the 70s.

Over the course of twelve years, they were built approximately 860,000 Fiat 127 in all versions, ensuring the small car a massive diffusion in the country.

The car at the time of its release it cost about 4 million Lire, a not negligible figure but still accessible for most citizens.

But let’s go now and see what are the features of this new 127.

The first thing that appears evident when looking at this new Fiat 127 is the great similarity with the car that inspired it.

As has already happened with the Fiat Nuova 500, Fiat has managed to redesign the line of the subcompact in a modern way while maintaining the general profile of the car unchanged.

Among the most interesting details of the vehicle, studied on the Fiat Punto chassis, the two-spoke steering wheel, a clear reference to the 70s.

A very interesting work for which we must thank the designer David Obendorfer who oversaw the project.

The project dates back to 2013 but only in 2016 a real digital rendering of the car has finally been released officially to the delight of many fans.

Unfortunately, when asked “Will we be able to drive it soon?” Fiat he replied in the negative: the 127 remains a prototype so there are no concrete projects about a production start.

A prototype that will remain so at least for now: a real shame because under the aesthetic plan, the car is really a feast for the eyes.
