WAGO Invests 50 Million Euros in New Logistics Center in Sondershausen

The electrical company WAGO is continuing to expand its location in Sondershausen. The company, headquartered in Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia, announced on Friday at the laying of the foundation stone that more than 50 million euros would be invested in a new logistics center.

Since 1999, the WAGO location in Thuringia has not only been a production plant for electrical materials, among other things, but also the linchpin for global shipping within the group, with annual sales of more than 1.3 billion euros last year. More than 1,000 workers are employed in Sondershausen.

The logistics center is currently the largest investment in the group with a total of around 9,000 employees, which produces, among other things, connectors and terminals, but also automation technology. A high-bay warehouse with a highly automated picking and storage area as well as 2,000 square meters of office space is being built in Sondershausen on an area of ​​11,000 square meters.

WAGO is considered one of the largest employers in northern Thuringia. The company started in the region at the beginning of the 1990s. According to the company, around 200 million euros have been invested at the Thuringian location within 30 years.
