KIEV – A battle has occurred between the border guards Belarus and the team Wagner . This was reported by the military’s National Center for Resistance Ukraine .
“Wagner members conducted reconnaissance near the settlement of Dyatlyk, which is near the border with Ukraine,” said the Ukrainian report.
“In this action, skirmishes occurred between the mercenaries and the Belarusian border guards, the latter withdrew and did not ‘interfere’ with the Wagnerites’ work,” the report added. Al ArabiaFriday (21/7/2023).
Earlier, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that Wagner members had started combat training for the Belarusian armed forces.
“The Belarusian armed forces are continuing joint training with Wagner PMC (Private Military Enterprise) fighters. During the week, the special operations forces unit together with Company representatives will carry out combat training tasks at the Brest military range,” the Belarusian Ministry of Defense said on Telegram.
The training ground is several kilometers from the Polish and Ukrainian borders.
Wagner chairman Yevgeny Prigozhin appeared in a video shared last Wednesday on social media, in which he can be seen delivering a speech to his fighters in Belarus. He informed his members that they would no longer be involved in the Ukraine war. But he ordered them to prepare for future efforts in Africa while they helped train Belarusian military forces.
