Monitoring organization: “Wagner” mercenaries continue to train Belarusian soldiers
According to the report of the organization, in December of last year, the “Wagnerians” conducted both systematic and irregular trainings in several cities of Belarus.
“Belaruski Gajun” reports that the training took place in Grodno, Brest, Minsk, Borisov, Osipovichi and Gomel.
The training included tactical combat exercises, trench and trench occupation drills, first aid and evacuation exercises, and honed combat skills in a built environment.
The monitoring organization also stated that the number of “Wagnerian” military equipment units stationed in Belarus continues to decrease. It is possible that the equipment could have been brought to the territory of Russia and handed over to the Russian army, says “Belaruski Gajun”.
CONTEXT:
Part of the fighters of the Russian private military group “Vagner”, known for its particular cruelty, came to Belarus after last summer’s unsuccessful attempt by the leader of this group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, to overthrow the Russian military leadership. Although the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin, in an address to the public, strongly condemned the military coup organized by Prigozhin, calling it a criminal adventure, treason and a blow in the back, however, on the evening of June 24, the Kremlin said that the “Wagner” fighters would be released from criminal responsibility for the armed coup, but Prigozhin would move to Belarus.
However, exactly two months after this coup, Prigozhin’s plane crashed in the Tver region and Prigozhin died. But some of the “Wagnerians” ended up in Belarus, some were tried to be recruited by other military companies, some returned to the front in Ukraine.
