“Wagner Mercenaries Capture Bakhmut: Latest Updates on the Ukrainian War”

“Today, Bakhmut is only in our hearts,” Zelensky said at the G7 summit in Japan. “There’s nothing there.”

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder and head of Russia’s private mercenary group Wagner, announced on Saturday that his forces had captured Bakhmut in the longest and bloodiest battle of the Ukrainian war.

In a video published on the Telegram platform, Prigozhin announced that since Saturday noon, Bakhmut has been under complete control of Wagner. Behind him were half a dozen fighters, the ruins of buildings and explosions in the background.

Prigozhin promised that within five days the “Wagnerians” would inspect the city and hand it over to the regular units of the Russian army.
