Wagner commander Yevgeny Prigozhin says that he has been promised enough ammunition and weapons that he will nevertheless continue the fighting at Bakhmut in Ukraine.
The head of the Russian mercenary group posted a message on Telegram on Sunday, reversing the signals he has given in recent days.
On Friday, Prigozhin lashed out at the Russian military leadership, whom he accused of not providing enough arms and ammunition to Wagner. He also showed what were supposed to be dead mercenaries lying in rows, saying that the lack of weapons and ammunition had led to them suffering a senseless death.
On Saturday, a new message came in which Prigozhin said he would hand over the group’s positions at Bakhmut to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Kadyrov then wrote on Telegram that he was ready to go to Bakhmut and that his soldiers were only waiting for orders.
