The Russian private military company “Wagner” announced that it had captured a tactically important settlement north of the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, DPA reported.

According to the owner of “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin, his fighters have established complete control over the populated area of Paraskovievka, Interfax reports.

Fierce fighting is taking place in the area of the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut.

The information cannot yet be independently verified.

Russian military bloggers wrote that the village of Paraskovievka is an important link in the Ukrainian defense. If the neighboring villages of Verkhovka, Berkhovka and Yagodnoe are also captured, the Ukrainian troops in Bakhmut will no longer be able to be supplied from the north.

The battle for Bahmut has been going on for months.

Prigozhin took advantage of the announcement to reprimand the Russian Ministry of Defense, saying that the offensive was successful despite the “munitions blockade”, notes BTA.
