Waggeryds company Gärahovs build declared bankrupt

Gärahov has around 120 employees around the country. The board writes in a press release about “irregularities over a long period of time regarding significant amounts”, and that it has put the company in a very serious financial situation.

“This action has taken place without information being provided to the board and without the board’s and principal owner’s knowledge, as well as in a way that, according to the review now carried out, is deemed to include criminal action,” the press release states.

Police report

A police report will be made. Three employees have also been dismissed with immediate effect.

– It is with great disappointment that we unfortunately have to state that the company no longer has a future. Although we have good profitability in the short term, it is not enough. I feel something enormous for everyone who is affected because of the company’s past, says Gärahov’s CEO Anders Svensson.

In addition to Vaggeryd, Gärahov also has offices in Malmö, Stockholm, Linköping, Växjö, Jönköping and Värnamo. In 2022, the company had a turnover of SEK 1.6 billion, but then made a loss of SEK 106.7 million, the annual report shows.

Builds two schools in Jönköping

Gärahov is tasked with building two new schools in Jönköping municipality; Sanda high school in Huskvarna and Djupadalsskolan at Strandängen in Jönköping. For the municipality of Jönköping, the news of the bankruptcy came as a cold shower.

School reconstruction in Mjölby

Gärahov has several ongoing constructions around the country, for example the rebuilding of Lagmansskolan in Mjölby. Even there, it is unclear what is now happening.
