Director of the Agricultural cooperation from Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Philippe Sommer speaks for 250 companies and 80,000 workers, which produce 40% of the agri-food products of the largest agricultural region in Europe. He assures him, there is a “decline in inflation”, even if there is “not necessarily visibility in the region”, he concedes, while the France Bleu basket took six cents in November. On prices, in the midst of farmers’ discontent over their remuneration, “we try to produce at a controlled price but we will never go down to the price of Ukrainian chicken”, warns the director of Agricultural Cooperation of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. “We are trying to tell the French to make an effort, to try to source a French, cooperative product, that will provide direct remuneration to farmers,” launches Philippe Sommer.
