Cash Direct Assistance (BLT) in the form of subsidies salary/ wages to workers with a salary below IDR 5 million will be disbursed tomorrow, Tuesday (25/8). Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah revealed that the government has pocketed around 12 million accounts of potential BLT recipient workers from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
He stated that the assistance would be symbolically distributed by President Joko Widodo on August 25, 2020.
“The plan is for the President to hand over it directly and launch it. God willing August 25, “said Ida in his official statement, Sunday (16/8).
Further, Ida explained that the wage subsidy will be given to private employees and Government Officials Non Civil Servants with income below Rp5 million.
In addition to wages of less than IDR 5 million, they must also be registered as active participants in the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
Ida explained that the wage subsidy was Rp. 600 thousand for 4 months or a total of Rp. 2.4 million. This subsidy will be given every 2 months or every payment of IDR 1.2 million.
“So we will give subsidies for September-October at the end of this August. And the next 2 months will be given. So it is given in the form of direct transfers to the recipient’s account every 2 months, Rp1.2 million,” he said.
Ida added that this wage subsidy assistance is given as a form of appreciation to workers and employers who have been active participants of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
For workers who are not registered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, and workers who have experienced layoffs due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they can still get social assistance or other government assistance.
For example, workers who have been laid off or laid off, Ida stated that they are prioritized for entry into the labor-intensive program and the Pre-employment Card program. For information, the Pre-Employment Card program is currently in batch V.
“And thank God batch 4 has fulfilled 800 thousand participants. And as directed by the President and the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs), friends who have been laid off, have been sent home, get priority for the next batch,” said Ida.
It is known that the government will provide cash assistance funds (BLT) in the form of wage subsidies to workers with salaries below IDR 5 million. The aid scheme is budgeted for IDR 37 trillion.
This scheme will be provided to formal workers registered with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (BP Jamsostek). However, not all registered workers are entitled to receive this wage assistance.
