In 2022, 1.2 percent of the total wages will be available for wage measures for teachers and school administrators. This was decided by the government council after the budget was approved by the grand council. This means that the target wage curve can be maintained. Education Bern recognizes that in this way no new wage arrears are created and moderate wage growth is possible, especially in times when teachers and school administrators are doing extraordinary things.

Additional wage levels can be spoken for catching up on wage arrears. Unfortunately, only those teachers whose wages are furthest away from the wage target curve benefit from this. Education Bern expects that the full 1.5 percent of the wage bill will be available again in the next budget year and that the wage arrears will finally be resolved.
