Wael Jumaa attacks Al-Shennawi with a fiery statement, after Al-Ahly lost to Al-Hilal of Sudan
The Sudanese club Al-Hilal managed to achieve an exciting victory over its Egyptian guest, Al-Ahly, with a free goal, in the meeting that brought the two teams together at the “Blue Jewel” stadium, on Saturday, in the second round of the group stage of the African Champions League.
And the Democratic Republic of the Congo striker, Macabe Lilibo, deceived, from a free kick that he executed in a clever way, the goalkeeper of Al-Ahly club and the Egyptian national team, Mohamed El-Shennawy, who failed to deal with the ball, to enter his net in the 53rd minute.
And Muhammad Al-Shennawi returned to raise the controversy again, after he entered into a clash with the Sudanese club doctor in the 81st minute, as he asked him to speed up aid for one of the injured players, and things would have developed more had it not been for the intervention of the players of the two teams in order to calm the situation, but Al-Shennawi did not stop there. As he went again to clash with the Al-Hilal club doctor, after the referee blew the final whistle.
For his part, the captain of Al-Ahly club and the former Egyptian national team, Wael Gomaa, criticized Al-Ahly players in general and goalkeeper Al-Shennawi in particular, especially after he received the only goal in this meeting, in addition to his behavior that distracted his companions during the confrontation.
Wael Jumaa said in the analytical studio of the Qatari “BN Sports” channels, on Saturday: “The goal that entered Al-Shennawi’s goal, it was a shame for the main goalkeeper of the Egyptian national team to receive it in this way, even if the sun affected his vision, he had to avoid it.”
He added, “Your reaction in the match cannot be a clash, no matter what happens. You are the captain of the team, and you should have avoided contact with the opponents, even if there was provocation or a waste of time.”
