After the rumors about the change from WAC captain Michael Sollbauer were getting louder (Sky Sport Austria reported), an agreement has now been reached.
According to Sky information, WAC and Barnsley FC have agreed on the transfer of Sollbauer. Ex-WAC coach Gerhard Struber is bringing the second Wolfsberger to England. Sollbauer’s medical tests will follow tomorrow, even before the contract is due to be signed. Sollbauer has played over 300 competitive games for the WAC since 2010. In the 2011/12 season he made it into the tipico Bundesliga with the Carinthians. The central defender scored eight goals and prepared four goals.

At the age of 29, Sollbauer appears to be venturing abroad for the first time. Sollbauer was under Struber – he played in 20 of 21 possible competitive games. Sollbauer convinced the ex-WAC trainer with his development despite his older age.
