Actor Louis de Funes began his brilliant career in the 40s. Ten years later, he starred in the same film with the future movie star and wife of Vladimir Vysotsky, Marina Vlady. But few people know about this.
The actress received a major role in the film adaptation of Charles Perrault’s fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty”. The little-known picture came out in 1954 and was directed by Jean Bodel. At that time, Vladi was only 16 years old. De Funes was then already an experienced actor, but he appeared mainly in episodes. In the distant 50s, none of the viewers could even guess what they see in one frame of the future stars of world cinema.
In the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty, Louis played the role of an astrologer. The frames from the film clearly demonstrate that even then the charismatic artist used his rich facial expressions with might and main.
Vladi started her acting career at the age of 11. She starred in the film “Summer Thunderstorm”, and then played in the theater with her sister. Marina was often given the role of Slavic girls, because the actress is of Russian origin. A few years later, she became a movie star and won the heart of the legendary Soviet bard Vladimir Vysotsky.
