A car rolled over on the A 72 shortly after the Plauen/Ost junction on Sunday afternoon. According to the police, the 46-year-old driver was slightly injured and there was property damage of 8,000 euros. The man was driving a VW Touran in the direction of Leipzig when he left the roadway to the right shortly before 1 p.m. and drove onto the crash barrier. As a result, the car was catapulted into the air, rolled over and landed on its roof in a side ditch, police said. On its trajectory, the car destroyed another electronic traffic sign.

The driver refused any medical attention. A drug test carried out reacted positively to amphetamines, according to the police. A blood draw followed. The right of two lanes of the freeway remained closed for two hours. (fp)
