The brand new VW ID.7 electric limousine will get a spicy GTX version. It will get all-wheel drive and a solid portion of power.
Only a few weeks have passed since the premiere of the purely electric Volkswagen ID.7, yet the time has come to expand the model portfolio. And the most powerful version with the GTX label, which will be officially presented at the beginning of September at the Munich Motor Show.
The GTX designation is used by VW for its sport-oriented electric cars. So far, the ID.4 and ID.5 models, i.e. SUV and SUV-coupe, can boast of it. These have all-wheel drive consisting of two electric motors and a maximum system output of up to 299 horsepower. The quad is also confirmed for the ID.7 GTX, but the combined power of the electric motors remains a secret for now.
But something tells us that there might not be enough left at less than three hundred horses. After all, the standard version of the limousine already has one electric motor at the back with an output of 210 kW, i.e. 286 horsepower. We’ll see what kind of help the front electric motor will bring. But let’s recall that the recently presented Cupra Tavascan (sitting on the same MEB platform) promises up to 340 hp in the sharpest version. Maybe a clue?

We have to wait some more time for detailed information. Volkswagen has already revealed that the GTX version will be characterized by glossy black body elements, a standard black lacquered roof and dark tinted windows. The cabin is decorated with contrasting red stitching. Are you interested in the details? All that remains is to wait until the end of the summer, when a study very close to serial production will be officially presented.
