Volkswagen has ushered in a new era, one in which the company tries to re-emphasize the name’s symbol, that of the “people’s car.” The new model presented in the form of a concept car announces the company’s new design language, one required by the new management and which has a new message that emphasizes people.
Volkswagen will mass-produce an electric model called the ID.2all, and the prototype of this model was presented on the same day that the brand presented its financial results for 2022.
The car is a reinterpretation of the ID.2, which was already in the company’s plans for some time, but was sent back to the designers to be recreated.

The new design takes two important elements: the silhouette of the old Golf models, which confirms that the new bosses want to build on the prestige of this model, and part of the design of the new electric models of the ID family, but reinterpreted.

The first information about the ID.2all, a competitor for the future Renault 5, is about the price, which will be below 25,000 euros, and about the performance, with 450 km of autonomy. The car will be able to charge quickly in 20 minutes and will have two symbolic features: “space like Golf and accessible like Polo”. The price will be possible with the help of a new platform, MEB Entry, which means that it will have cheaper specifications and will also target a possible Dacia model in this segment. The length was also communicated, 4.05 meters, typical for the B segment, but with a trunk of 490 liters, specific to the C segment.

ID.2all shows where we want to take the brand. We want to be close to the customer and offer top technology in combination with fantastic design. We are implementing the transformation at pace to bring electric mobility to the masses.”
It is not clear whether the car will keep this name until launch, but it is certain that it will be available in a series version in 2025, when the competition in the electric B-segment will be extremely high.
