VVV-Venlo will exchange the well-known players’ staircase in Covebo Stadium – De Koel – for an escalator after this season. As soon as the last game of the season has been played, the stairs will be changed.
The player’s kick towards the field is the hallmark of the more than fifty-year-old Koel. However, in the context of modernizing the stadium, it has been decided to say goodbye to the iconic staircase, which will make way for an escalator. The escalator should provide more convenience for all people who have to go from top to bottom and from bottom to top several times at VVV home games.
Because adjusting the stairs is a serious intervention, changing the stairs into an escalator will only start after the current season. During the summer break, the new staircase will be fully prepared so that it is ready for use at the first (practice) match of the new season in De Koel.
