VVD party leader Dijkhoff quits after elections

“After more than ten years at the Binnenhof, my curiosity about going to work elsewhere is greater than [de nieuwsgierigheid] to what a longer stay brings, ”he says Facebook. “Just as curiosity brought me to the Binnenhof, it now also takes me elsewhere.”

He says that nothing will change in his activities in the near future. “I will continue to work as a group chairman,” he writes. He also says he will “work hard” to achieve a good election result on March 17, even if he is not a candidate.

Dijkhoff hopes that Prime Minister Rutte will once again pull the cart towards the elections. Rutte has not yet given a definite answer about this. That will happen sometime before the end of the year.
