Vulnerability in Windows 10: Update comes from Microsoft Store

Security updates are traditionally distributed via Windows update, but in this case it is different. As Microsoft writes, the updates are automatically made available through the Microsoft Store. Affected Windows users do not have to do anything else, the automatic update does everything in the background. Of course, this only works if you haven’t deactivated the automatic app updates or even removed the store from Windows.-

If you want to be on the safe side, you should manually check whether the updates are loaded. To do this, you can click on the three-point menu in the Microsoft Store and select “Downloads and Updates”. You start the manual update search by clicking on “Get updates”. There you will see two updates, one for HEVC video extensions and one for HEIF image extensions.
