After 14 years, Seville is experiencing the exciting “Vuelta a España”, where 176 cyclists are participating as part of the Fifth Stage of professional cycling.

As they pass through the Andalusian city, the cycling professionals cover 15.8 kilometres, within a circuit that is within sight of the most iconic places in Seville.

In its 79th edition, this competition comprises a total of 21 stages, covering 3,304.3 kilometres. It is one of the three Grand Tours and is part of the UCI WorldTour calendar.

It began on August 17 in Lisbon, Portugal and will end on September 8 in Madrid, Spain.

For some, this type of competition is part of their debut, in other cases it is the retirement of their career, as is the case of Rigoberto Urán, a professional cyclist of Colombian origin.

Seville City Council authorities have given a series of recommendations to spectators, as temperatures are around 35 degrees Celsius, with a thermal sensation of 38 degrees, in order to avoid problems due to sunstroke, in this time of summer.

The cycling route, made up of 22 groups, each consisting of eight members, will compete in the fifth stage at the finish line, located in the Plaza de Toros.
