With harsh words against the rapporteur of the European Parliament for the accession of Kosovo to the Council of Europe, Doras Bakoyannis, the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, managed to speak during his speech from the Palace of Serbia.
K. Vucic started the speech about the position of Serbia in the geopolitical context as it is being formed and the political situation in the country and after analyzing the latest developments regarding the issue of Kosovo, he “locked” Dora Bakoriannis accusing her of changing her stance after interventions, betraying the its beginnings.
More specifically, Mr. Vucits said: “As far as Dora Bakoyannis is concerned…. I’ll say it again Dora : Shame on you for lying about what you did too. Shame on you, I know well from whom you have been ordered to abandon your principles … shame on you … some people are spineless.” More specifically, Mr. Vucits accused the former Foreign Minister of Greece that as the rapporteur of the European Parliament for Kosovo’s accession to the Council of Europe, she changed the terms of her proposal after a phone call and waived the condition that Pristina first implement the “Union of Serbs Municipalities” (ZSO). As he characteristically said: “Suddenly she regretted, while she was very stable and strong. He remembered that ZSO is not important. And then he remembered that expropriation is not important either. I know very well who gave the order to abandon your principles and behave like this. Same on you”.
ZSO is the plan for a self-governing union of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo, mainly in the north of the breakaway province. This proposal came from the 2013 Brussels Agreement signed by the governments of Kosovo and Serbia with European mediation.
