VTC driver gets riddled with bullets by customer and miraculously survives

On Tuesday, November 2, a VTC driver working for the Lyft company was targeted by a customer who almost killed her. The facts took place in the American city of Jackson, located in Tennessee.

The story told by the Washington Post is both terrible and miraculous. Brandy Littrell said she didn’t notice anything unusual about the teenager she picked up as she drove for the Lyft company, an Uber rival launched in 2012, Tuesday afternoon November 2 in Jackson, Mississippi.

From the backseat of her Dodge Journey, the customer she just picked up makes conversation, mentioning that he is on his way to work at McDonald’s. He seemed “like an ordinary person going to work”.

Until the latter takes out a firearm and points it at the conductor. The individual, Dontarius Magee, 17, ordered him to sit in the back seat. After taking his phone and credit cards, he went to a wooded area where, according to the Jackson Police Department, he shot him six to seven times.

Then he left, leaving Littrell to bleed on the floor. “I’m sitting there thinking that’s how I’m going to die,” the 36-year-old recalls.

The arrested suspect confesses

Littrell, who was shot in the legs, arms, neck area and shoulders will find the strength to go to a nearby house where a resident will call 911.

Magee was arrested on the day of the crime for carjacking, kidnapping, aggravated assault and armed robbery, according to Hinds County Court records.

Jackson’s Deputy Police Chief Deric Hearn said the police department worked with the FBI to locate Magee, who authorities say confessed to the crime.

10 fatal assaults Lyft noted

A Lyft spokesperson said in a statement that the company has reached out in support of Littrell, permanently banned its attacker and “stands ready” to help law enforcement.

“The incident described is horrific and our hearts go out to Ms. Littrell and her loved ones,” the statement read, adding that new security features and alerts are being explored “to help prevent such incidents in the world. ‘to come up”.

In its first-ever safety report, Lyft disclosed 10 reports of fatal physical assault between 2017 and 2019 and 4,158 reports of sexual assault. The report states that over 99% of all trips were completed without any reported safety incidents.
