VTA employees visit altar in honor of the nine victims of deadly shooting in San José – Telemundo Bay Area 48

VTA employees visited the altar placed on the City Hall esplanade on Friday to honor the memory of the nine victims who lost their lives when a man shot them while they were in the transportation system maintenance building.

“Those gentlemen are family,” said Mario Reyes, while remembering the victims.

Gabriela, who works for the Human Resources Department of the VTA, assured that all the employees are very sad.

Tai, a former VTA employee, tearfully remembered Adrián, one of the fatalities, as he looked at his photograph on the altar.

“Adrian looks the same,” Tai said.

Employees and the community in general are clear that after this tragedy the authorities have to take measures to prevent mass shootings from continuing to occur.

Train service will be temporarily suspended so bus drivers from other agencies will be supporting the transportation agency.
