Now Vantaa Sanomat reports that the fan mailbox will be removed from the town hall by the end of May. The reason is the cooperation agreement between Warner Music and Käärijä.

– In the future, all fan mail to Käärijä should be primarily sent to the official fan mail address at Warner Music Finland, producer in Vantaa Taija Penttilä tells the newspaper.

Vantaa decided to set up its own fan mailbox for Käärijä, because people delivered letters to the city that were intended for the artist. Penttilä says that the amount of fan mail was quite high every month, and the letters were forwarded to the artist.

– Dozens of letters have arrived in the box every month. At Christmas time, letters, cards and small gifts filled almost the entire mailbox, says Penttilä.

Käärijä also received other honors from Vantaa due to his popularity. The city offered the artist a rented apartment in Vantaa for a year. In addition, Käärijä received his own mural and the Vantaa medal in recognition of his significant contributions to the city.

A mural was also completed from the wrapper, which was later appealed to the administrative court. The mural was immortalized on the wall of Tikkurila shopping center Prisma, whose residents of the apartment building opposite have been dissatisfied with the operation of the City of Vantaa. Risto Carlson, the chairman of the board of the housing stock company of the apartment building in question, told Iltalehti that the residents’ annoyance is not caused by Käärijä’s image.

– This mural is directly against the yard area of ​​our housing association and it completely covers the residents’ view. It seems that this decision was made a bit in such a Eurovision frenzy, he commented.
