The winners in the five categories will be determined by a vote consisting of the choices of fans, sports journalists and LVF, with the majority – 40% – forming a fan vote on the LVF website.
Traditionally, the prizes were awarded during the “Latvian Cup”, but taking into account the current circumstances, the prize-giving event will be clarified whether, similarly to the previous year, the prizes will be presented individually.
This year, in each nomination, the three strongest are put to the vote of the fans and the jury, who took the lead after the vote of the commissions and secretariat of the Latvian Volleyball Federation.
VOLLEYBALL OF THE YEAR nominated for the award:
Deniss Petrovs – Latvian men’s volleyball team player, 16th place in the 2021 European Championship, 8th place in the Russian Super League (“ASK Nizhny Novgorod”);
Kristaps Šmits – Latvian men’s national team player, 16th place in the 2021 European Championship, 1st place in the 2021 Latvian Championship (SK “Jēkabpils lūši”) and the title of the most valuable player;
Atvars Ozolins – Latvian national team player, 16th place in the 2021 European Championship
VOLLEYBALL OF THE YEAR nomination includes:
Elvita Dolotova – Latvian national team match leader, Czech 6th place (VK “Kralovo Pole”)
Paula Nikola čečiporuka – Latvian national team player, “2021 Atlantic 10 Conference All-Academic Team” title representing the University of Virginia (USA);
Martha Camellia Levinsky – Latvian women’s volleyball national team player, the most successful national team player in the qualification of the 2021 European Championship, “All-Pac-12 Freshman Team” title representing the University of Arizona (USA);
VOLLEYBALL TEAM OF THE YEAR:
Latvian men’s volleyball team – Entered the eighth final of the 2021 European Championships
Jēkabpils “Lūši” men’s team – 2021 Latvian Super Cup, Latvian Cup winners, “Credit24” master league team
RVS / LU women’s team – In 2021, 2nd place in the Baltic League, 2nd place in the Latvian Championship
FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE YEAR:
Anastasia Kravchenoka and Tina Graudina – 4th place winners of the Tokyo Olympic Games
Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Edgars Točs – 4th place winners of the Tokyo Olympic Games
Artūrs Rinkevičs and Ardis Daniels Bedrītis – U-22 age group European vice-champions, 2021 Latvian beach volleyball champions
RISE STAR OF THE YEAR:
Artūrs Rinkevičs – 2nd place winner of the European U-22 Beach Volleyball Championship, 2021 Latvian Beach Volleyball Champion
Daniela Konstantinova – 2nd place winner of the Latvian Beach Volleyball Championship, winner of the Latvian Youth Beach Volleyball U-18 Championship, member of the European Beach Volleyball Championship U-18 group;
Kristers Dardzāns – Latvian men’s volleyball team player, participant of the eighth final of the 2021 European Championship, player of the Italian Super League team “Sir Safety” in Perugia.
