Until recently, the ruling party, GERB, lost eight constituencies in which it was the leading political force in the April regular election. The preferences there this time were for “There is such a people” by Slavi Trifonov and MRF. The movement returns to Shumen and Silistra, which in the last two votes were won by the party of former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, and the BSP remains without a victory in any regional center, while “Democratic Bulgaria” repeats its success in the capital’s 23rd and 24th area.
This is shown by the results of the early elections on July 11, with 100% or very close to 100% of the processed protocols of the section commissions.
“There is such a people”, which three months ago ended with one won multi-member region – Ruse, is now expanding its leadership position to 8 districts, winning seven from GERB and the only regional center won by the BSP in April – Yambol. Among the landmark areas in which the former rulers are losing influence are Plovdiv-city (although GERB is still in the lead in the district), Stara Zagora and Veliko Tarnovo. For the first time since 2014, the MRF won Shumen and Silistra, which it added to its traditional victories in Kardzhali, Razgrad and Targovishte.
Despite the losses, GERB remains the political force with the greatest influence in the districts and wins the vote in half of the constituencies – 16 out of 31.

The former ruling party is losing about 200,000 votes compared to the April elections, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC). However, when counting the absolute votes, one should also take into account the significantly lower turnout – the CEC has not yet announced data, but according to sociologists it is about 41% compared to 50.61% in April. The left ended with a lower result of 125,000 votes than three months ago, and the MRF – with about 60,000 votes down. “Stand up! Get out” have nearly 20,000 fewer votes.
Slavi Trifonov and his party members added over 50,000 votes, and “Democratic Bulgaria” – nearly 25,000.
