Riga, Dec. 6, LETA. In one of the two competing meetings of the party members of the party “KPV LV” today, a remote vote was taken to recall the current party board.
Atis Zakatistovs, Ralfs Nemiro, Ēriks Pucens, Iveta Benhena-Bēkena, Ieva Krapāne, Māris Možvillo, Jānis Vitenbergs, Lauris Zīverts and Ramona Petraviča are currently on the Board.
65 party representatives voted to recall the board, but one abstained.
Discussions on the composition of the new board are ongoing. However, the organizers of the event indicated that a single board was elected for a fixed term of no more than six months and that such a team would act “as a temporary option”. Most likely, the new board members would work until March 6, when the regular meeting is scheduled.
It has already been reported that today’s meeting of members was prompted to convene one-tenth of the party’s members. As indicated in the justification of the meeting, the members who convened it consider that the party board has not acted economically and diligently with the party’s financial resources.
It is also reported that another meeting is scheduled for December 12. The two meetings have been convened by different parties, so it is possible that the Business Register (ER) may have to decide on the validity of the likely divergent decisions at the meetings once they have taken place.
Zīverts previously told LETA that the majority of the board of “KPV LV” convened a meeting of other members on December 12. Some members have stated that at the December 12 meeting it will be proposed to cancel the decisions expected at the December 6 meeting. Zīverts admitted that the UR will have to make a decision regarding which meeting’s decisions should be declared valid.
The politician believes that the board has announced the December 12 meeting to confuse members that members’ meetings are scheduled for two different dates.
Zīverts also stated that despite the decision of the board to expel him from the party, he was not expelled because the board could not exclude a member of the board elected at a wider meeting.
Ēriks Pucens, a member of the board of “KPV LV”, a member of the Saeima, previously emphasized to LETA that Zīverts had been expelled from the party and could not be considered a member of the party. Pucens emphasized that in accordance with the party’s statutes approved by the members, the decision of the board to expel the member takes effect as of the moment of its adoption.
“KPV LV” UR has sent a decision to exclude Zīvert and it will be possible to see how UR will act. The politician pointed out that the former party co-chairman Artuss Kaimiņš was no longer on the party’s board, but he still had the opportunity to access the party’s account, which it should not have been.
Pucens also explained that the board had convened the meeting on December 12 at the request of the members, so that it could take place remotely in accordance with the conditions of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control. The board of “KPV LV” considers that the procedure and other conditions for announcing today’s meeting have been violated, as well as some members do not know who has contacted them about this meeting convened on Sunday.
A member of the board of “KPV LV” pointed out that UR could not accept the decisions expected today, because there were procedural violations in convening today’s meeting.
