The Hague
People who do not yet know which party they will vote for in the upcoming European elections can complete the StemWijzer again. The voting aid was launched in The Hague on Wednesday. Most of the party leaders were there.
The StemWijzer was developed by the ProDemos institute. During the last parliamentary elections, voting aids were completed approximately 3.2 million times in one month. Five years ago, at the previous European elections, approximately 1.7 million people responded to the statements. About 200,000 of them did so at the last minute, in the last three hours that the polling stations were open.
The StemWijzer presents visitors with thirty statements. These include the distribution of asylum seekers, taxes for large companies, the situation in the Middle East, nuclear energy and expansion of the European Union. After answering the statements, people are shown which parties their answers correspond to.
Another voting aid, the Electoral Compass, was also launched on Wednesday.
