One of them is a survey by the Indonesian Development Technology Strategy (DTS) agency which was released Tuesday (1/3/22). In the results of various simulations of presidential candidates (candidates) in 2024, the potential for a head to head competition until the second round between Anies and Ganjar emerged.

According to political observer and lecturer in political communication at Paramadina University, Hendri Satrio, this portrait is proof that the voters’ choice of reference has shifted to candidates with a populist regional head background.

“The criteria for leaders who are wanted by voters today tend to shift from populist to intelligent, so people like and need an intelligent president,” said Hendri Satrio, Thursday (3/3/2022).

Hendri explained that the imaging strategy for winning was old or considered obsolete by many people. According to him, the ideal strategy now is an exhibition of performance achievements.

“So the current strategy that must be used is that of exhibitions. Only regional heads who have development results can carry out the exhibition strategy, no longer imaging,” he said.

Anies Baswedan, continued the founder of the KedaiKOPI institution, has many development results that can be exhibited. This is what makes Anies’ electability rating increase. In addition, the tight competition between Anies and Ganjar could be due to Ganjar’s weak electability.

“The competition between the two (head-to-head) is also supported by Pak Ganjar’s electability, which was disrupted by the Wadas conflict case yesterday. The work that was not too neat or not done well at Wadas made Pak Ganjar’s electability decrease,” he concluded.
