Since 2007, the felix award has been the award for top sporting achievements in North Rhine-Westphalia – making the award the culmination of every sporting year. The prize is awarded by the State Sports Association of North Rhine-Westphalia together with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia – and in Olympic years like this – the Sportstiftung NRW. That’s why the felix award is taking place in the champions edition this year.
The award-winning athletes represent the sporting region of North Rhine-Westphalia in an excellent way in all its diversity. With the felix award and the award ceremony, they receive the stage and attention that they deserve for their first-class achievements, even outside of sporting events.
Five top athletes from North Rhine-Westphalia have the chance to win the felix award in each category. A jury of experts will determine who is among the nominees. Borussia have already received several awards and this year two are among those selected again. Both are up for election in the Para Sport category and since everyone is allowed to cast one vote, the fans have to choose between Sandra Mikolaschek and Valentin Baus…
