Voting will take place from May 16 to June 12 electronically (the questionnaire is available on the website of the Liepāja Theater www.liepajasteatris.lv), voting forms in paper form will also be available in the theater.
Productions included in the vote: Linen beauty queen (directed by J.J. Gillinger), which is the only production from the previous season, not this season, as it premiered only in June 2022 and was not evaluated in the previous vote; Yen (director Dmitry Petrenko), Estonian funeral 1999 (director Regnārs Vyvars), Choral Festival (director Matís Budovskis), Kaija (director Dmitry Petrenko), A word (directed by J.J. Jillinger) and Liepaja Theater’s latest performance The taste of honey (director Mārtiņš Kalita), which premiered just last weekend.
The results will be announced on June 17 after the show Greeks, therefore the visitors of this performance will be the first to know this year’s results, which will then be published on the theater’s website. A production Greeks the theater is currently being created by director Elmārs Senkovs, it will premiere on June 10, while on June 17, the 116th season of the Liepāja Theater will also close with this performance. Greeks will be included in the next season’s vote for audience ratings.
The show staged by Elmar Senkov Grimm became the favorite, most recognized show of the previous audience vote. On the other hand, the audience recognized Egon Dombrovskis, Agnes Jēkabsons, Rolandas Beķeris and Karinas Tatarinova as the best actors of the last stage.
Less than a week after the results of the audience vote will be announced, professionals will also give their assessment of the past season in all Latvian theaters, announcing Gambler’s Night nominations.
