You have an appointment to vote online to elect the best amateur rugby players in the Lot for the 2022-2023 season. They will be rewarded during a ceremony organized on Tuesday, December 5 at Lacapelle Marival. Vote for the best player in Regional 1.
Bertrand Arteil (Gourdon)
Captain of Gourdon XV Bouriane, Bertrand Arteil has climbed all the ranks of the Bourian club’s training. Already in the small categories, he had the temperament to train his friends with always positive speeches.
After rugby school, in the cadet team, under the leadership of Philippe Bouygues, and Bastien Fernandes, he had good seasons with the EGS agreement (Gourdon, Souillac). It was then, Franck Austruy and Pat Daly as juniors who continued to shape the player he has become today. Upon arriving in the senior group, he quickly found his place in the third row. He quickly became a driving force in the group. His investment, his exemplary nature, his qualities as a player have earned him the opportunity to take on the captain’s armband.
At a time when a certain number of players are on the move (the grass is always greener elsewhere), Bertrand Arteil is Bourian at heart and the Louis Delpech stadium suits him well. After a promising start to the season, we wish him to take his group as far as possible, with his sights set on qualifying for the final stages.
Édouard Morault (Saint Céré Rugby)
A recognized and talented player, Edouard Morault joined the “Sang et Or” squad six seasons ago. Before wearing the Saint Cérenne tunic, Edouard Morault played at a high level within, in particular, CA Brive, or within the squad of Soyaux Angoulême.
As soon as he arrived at Saint-Céré, his technical level and physical abilities brought undeniable added value to the “Sang et Or” senior collective. Spearhead of the Saint-Cerene attack, Edouard Morault systematically wins his duels and brings his entire team with him.
His good integration and natural leadership will lead him to wear the captain’s armband without any challenge for three seasons now. It doesn’t matter if he plays second or third row, he will emerge after each match as one of the best elements of the Saint-Céré Rugby team.
William Lacoste (RCBBV)
William is a marketing assistant at a well-known paint manufacturer in Biars sur Cère. He started rugby at the age of 5 with the ERBB. Very few know it but he was destined for a career as a scrum-half. But his coaches quickly, given the time he spent in the groupings, redirected him to the forward pack. He spent his cadet and junior years in prestigious clubs: CAB and Biarritz Olympique, and enjoyed the honors of selection by the Limousin committee. It was during the 2014/2015 season that he joined the senior team, finding a place in the first team that year.
A true Swiss army knife, we saw him play, with the same determination, pillar, hooker, 3rd wing line and 3rd center line. He is the very type of those players who have only one objective: to serve the team wherever necessary. Now part of the ”elders” of the team, he is one of the leaders who enabled the club’s great adventure in the Challenge de France last season. His main quality, beyond his technique, is that he leads by example. He is one of the trio of players with the highest attendance rate in training and on the field he struggles to the point of exhaustion which we begin to detect when he advances with his helmet askew. Off the field, he is a cheerful companion with a sharp sense of humor. It is a formidable predator… for chocolate mousse or flan! For all of his work, he has his place in the list of nominees.
William Thomas (US Luzech)
After a year at Montreuil, it was under the “sky and white” jersey of Cahors that he continued his apprenticeship from junior to cadet. “We have won many tournaments. We had a close-knit team.” After the Pôle Espoirs de Jolimont at 15, he joined the Castres Olympique Training Center where he played on the wing or at the back. When he was just 19, he was upgraded and took part in the Under-20 World Cup.
In 2014, he joined the Elite center in Marcoussis, and the pre-group before the 6 nations tournament, but ultimately was not selected. After 3 years at Saint Junien and a return to Cahors, he joined Luzech last season, where he brought his experience and his qualities as a player and scorer. Unfortunately, a serious knee injury sidelined him from the field. This year was supposed to be a sabbatical season off the field, but he took up the challenge of managing the Luze team in the midst of a reorganization.
Arthur Aimar (US Souillac)
Arthur Aimar, well known in Souillac where he works with his father, a former rugby player from Sarlat, as co-manager of the very renowned “Parc Quercy Land”, is a loyal player of US Souillac rugby where he started in 2010 At the age of 12.
Current pillar of the “Rouge et Noir” pennant team, Arthur Aimar, passionate about team sports and in particular rugby, is very appreciated by all the players and managers.
As he told us: “Rugby immediately appealed to me because of its friendly aspect, but it also instilled in me values such as integrity, solidarity, team cohesion, respect for the rules and others. My main objective in this sport is to give my all for the team, the “Rouge et Noir” club in particular, and to have a good time with my teammates while wishing us all a good season. »
