Shakhtar will be the opponent of the Poltava team in the decisive match of the tournament.
“Vorskla” beat “Polissya” in the match 1/2 finals of the Cup of Ukraine of the 2023/24 season. The match at the Central Stadium in Zhytomyr ended with a score of 0:1.
The Poltava team scored the only goal in this meeting at the end of the first half. At the 45th minute Serhii Myakushko made a well-aimed take-off shot after dropping his chest in the center of a free-kick from Ruslan Stepaniuk.
It should be noted that at the 80th minute, the match was suspended due to an air alert throughout the territory of Ukraine. It lasted about half an hour.
Immediately after returning to the field, Zhytomyr had a great chance to score. Danylo Khrypchuk pulled Pylyp Budkivskyi’s shirt during a free kick – the referee awarded a penalty. However, Budkivskyi did not beat the “green and white” goalkeeper Pavlo Isenko with a shot from the 11-meter mark.
After that, “Polyssia” continued to attack, but the Poltava team managed to keep the winning result.

Thus, “Vorskla” reached the final of the Cup of Ukraine, where they will play against “Shakhtar”, which a day earlier crushed “Chernomorets” (4:1).
Final match of the Cup of Ukraine will take place May 15 at the “Avangard” stadium in Rivne.
We will remind you that the last winner of the Cup of Ukraine is “Dynamo” Kyiv, which beat “Zorya” (1:0) in the final of the 2020/21 season. In the 2021/22 campaign, the tournament ended early due to Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, and last season there was no national cup draw at all.
