Makis Voridis, in his radio interview with Parapolitika, confirmed the publication of “Apogeumatini” about the study of a bill to tighten the penalties for the consumption of alcohol by minors, even saying that the reinstatement of the penalty is also being studied.
In particular, the Minister of State said for the relevant ministries that “they are studying a series of complex actions such as the obligation to verify the identity of persons who appear to be minors and subsequently the strengthening of controls” while he added that “in the past the provision of alcohol to minors was punishable act, then under SYRIZA this provision was abolished and only the administrative part remained, now we are discussing whether to reinstate the penalty, as a misdemeanor”.
At the same time, he added that “legislation is good, but the critical and big issue is control, who enters, who controls, what controls. It’s just that when you do something criminal, the police can also check, while otherwise if it is not criminal in nature, we stick to administrative checks. In my opinion, this is right, it must be done.”
In response to a question regarding the briefing of the political editors, Pavlos Marinakis noted that “there is a plan, all the data is being studied and when we have something tangible from the relevant ministries, we will have the relevant announcements and of course the relevant presentation to the Council of Ministers”.
