Volvo’s smallest electric model EX30 will also be produced at the Volvo factory in Ghent, Belgium from 2025, company representatives inform. Production of the car has already started at the Volvo factory in China, but the decision to produce the EX30 in Europe was made after Volvo saw a lot of customer interest and demand for this new model.
Volvo already produces two other electric models at the Ghent plant, namely the XC40 and C40, but the EX30 will be built there for the local European market. If necessary, machines from Europe will also be exported to other regions. Volvo does not hide that it wants to produce its cars closer to the places where the cars are sold. This is, of course, related to the various sustainability goals of the producer.
The Volvo EX30 is being positioned as a more mainstream electric model from the range, as Volvo tries to attract younger customers. It’s no secret that Volvo’s customers are basically middle-aged people, and the representatives of Volvo’s management are also aware of this, as the company tries to create an offer for younger people as well. As you know, Volvo plans to sell only electric cars from 2030.
