Hamburg. Under the motto “Get involved! #FORONE ANOTHER”, the Hamburg Diakonie’s volunteer week starts on September 16. Over seven days, the event offers around 40 opportunities to find out more and actively immerse yourself in volunteer work.
Many people in Hamburg would like to get involved, but don’t always know where and how they can do it. Volunteering Week provides a solution: interested people can get to know different areas of involvement in the facilities of the Diakonie Hamburg and church organizations. This way they can find out which volunteer work suits their interests and abilities.
A special program item will take place on September 17, 2024 in the Harburg volunteer network. At an open day at Neue Straße 59, 21073 Hamburg, curious people can take a look behind the scenes of the volunteer agency and find out more about volunteering from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Helena Radman, speaker for volunteering, emphasizes: “When you volunteer, you meet like-minded people, people with similar interests and values. It is valuable to do something for each other and for others.” Volunteering makes it possible to experience community and to actively contribute to society.
