VoLTE technology, which uses a 4G data network for voice communications, has several advantages. This technology allows customers to not only make calls in HD quality at no extra charge, but also the call connection is faster (1.5 seconds instead of the usual 3.5 – 5 seconds).
You can also use the phone to transmit data over the LTE network during a call, for example, to send pictures, videos, search for information, and to reduce the demand on battery power. However, the benefits of VoLTE voice call quality will be fully available only during the call, when both users will use a mobile phone that supports VoLTE technology and will be on the LTE network throughout the call, Binde adds.
The transition to the next generation of voice communications in the LMT network will take place gradually and will initially be available to “LMT” customers who use “SamsungVoLTE-enabled phones. To use the quality of voice calls provided by the new technology, your mobile phone must have the latest version of the operating system (at least Android 11) and the device would support VoLTE technology (the compliance of the device can be checked on the website “volte.lmt.lv”). It is important that LTE data transmission and VoLTE service are activated in the device settings.
