On February 24, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will take part in the opening of an online meeting of the leaders of the G7 countries, said Hirokazu Matsuno, Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan.
He did not elaborate on the details of the speech of the Ukrainian politician, noting that the situation in Ukraine will be the central topic of negotiations between representatives of the G7 countries.
In January, the Nikkei newspaper reported that Japan plans to invite the President of Ukraine to the G7 summit in Hiroshima. In 2023, Japan chairs the G7, and the organization’s annual summit is scheduled to take place from May 19 to 21.
