Volleyball – Zwettler Gym girls are state champions

On March 22nd it was time to say goodbye to a golden volleyball generation from the Zwettl high school. For the last time, the girls in the 8th grade competed for their school. After the early national championships, in which they had shone with third place, they and their team have now also won the national championship title.

In school volleyball, despite a one and a half year corona break, they won almost everything there was to win. In 2019 and 2020 the U17 state championship, in 2022 and this year the senior title. At the national championships last December, they played at the top and won bronze. The fact that they weren’t able to excel in the Austrian student league in the lower grades is because they attended three different schools up to the 4th grade.

The fact that many tears flowed after the end of the final shows how important this part of their school career was to the girls.

“The school community of the grammar school thanks you for your commitment and your passion and wishes you all the best on your further path and lots of joy and success in volleyball,” said supervisor Stefan Loeschenbrand.
