BAustrian women’s volleyball could not win a home match in Schwechat in the qualification of the European Championship.
ÖVV women began their European Championship qualification in mid-August with a 3-0 win over North Macedonia. The second opponent in Pool F, Greece, was a bit too big. After the 0-1 deficit, the second and third sets were promising at first, but in the end Libera Anna Oberhauser and Co. left behind in those rounds and ended up losing 0-3 clearly.
“We wanted to take whatever was possible. In the end, the class decided individually. “All the Greeks play in the major leagues, they don’t let anything go wrong,” said Oberhauser after the defeat in the Schwechater Multiversum. Austro women still have to be patient until they get their revenge. There will be no return games for twelve months.
