The decision about the German volleyball championship has been postponed. The Berlin Recycling Volleys won 3:1 (24:26, 26:24, 26:24, 25:20) at VfB Friedrichshafen on Wednesday evening and thus equalized to 2:2 in the best-of-five series. The decisive game takes place on Saturday in the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin (6.30 p.m.). The winner wins the title.
In the first round, the record champions hardly made any mistakes, while the Berliners, who started as favorites, had big problems with the block. They coped better with that in the second and third sets. The club from the capital showed morale and caught up on arrears. The Berliners also benefited from the fact that too many balls landed in the net at Friedrichshafen and VfB coach Mark Lebedew had no more challenges available early on. The set point was disputed, in which a double contact by Sergei Grankin was not punished.
The champion now played much more stable and increased the pressure (18:14). Friedrichshafen, on the other hand, lost ground in the fourth set and ultimately had nothing to oppose the increase in performance of the Berliners.
