Now on Saturday in the Max-Schmeling-Halle in Berlin in the fifth and last game the decision will be made as to who will be the German champion in 2022.

In the Ulm Arena, the volleys fought back in the first round after being 16:20 behind. Benjamin Patch equalized at 24:24. In the third set ball for VfB, however, the Berlin defense was lost.

However, the guests fought back. With the second set ball, converted by Patch, they managed to equalize the set 1:1. Friedrichshafen revealed problems with the serve, but compensated for this deficiency with outstanding defensive behavior.

However, the volleys themselves proved to be extremely resilient. In the third set they didn’t admit defeat even at 14:18. Substitute Marek Sotola got the first set ball for the Berliners at 24:22, the third was converted with a controversial point after Sergej Grankin touched the double ball.

The Berliners remained stable. The Frenchman Tim Carle made the preliminary decision with his attack to 20:15 in the fourth round. VfB clearly lost its clear line due to the unfortunate outcome of the third period. Samuel Tuia used the first match point right away.
