Tourcoing Lille Métropole (TLM) Volley achieved the feat of the 5th day of Men’s League A by winning in Poitiers, the championship favorite led by its world star Earvin N’Gapeth (1-3). The TLM remains undefeated, like Montpellier, and thus takes 2nd place in the ranking with this perfect start to the season.

A swallow does not make spring. And Earvin N’Gapeth was not enough for Stade Poitevin to avoid defeat, the second in a row in the Marmara SpikeLigue, despite its 24 points. The Northerners have indeed shown great solidarity on the Poitevin floor. And this around their young passer Amir Tizi Oualouvoted best player of this clash of the 5th day.

The argentinian trio Koukartsev-Luengas-Martinez Franchi showed great efficiency in attack and reception. Just like Captain Simon Roehrig who is increasingly asserting himself as a leader. And at the end, it gives an indisputable victory against the terror of the championship, beaten in its once again full Lawson-Body hall.

Mastery of TLM against Poitiers

The two teams are evenly matched, each winning a set (20-25, 25-21). But Tourcoing will make the difference in the perfectly controlled 3rd round (18-25). And the men of Dorian Rougeyron concluded the match perfectly by winning a very competitive 4th set (23-25). On the first match point, Christopher Byam indeed commits the fatal mistake. He thus offers victory to the Tourquennois who did not steal it.

After this great victory in Poitiers, the 5th in 5 matches, TLM Volley moved into 2nd place in Ligue A with 13 points, only one unit behind le leader, Montpellier. A result that will have to be confirmed on Saturday against Paris at the Stab Vélodrome in Roubaix.

Marcq in fact lost in his dilapidated Saint-Exupéry hall against Levallois-Paris 1-3 (15/25, 20/25, 28/26, 22/25). Led by Bianca Cugno (22 pts), the Parisiennes easily won in the North (1-3).
