The two factories produce the electric cars VW ID3, VW ID4, VW ID5, Audi Q4 e-tron.

The Zwickau factory produces 1,200 electric cars per day, writes Automotive News, referring to an article in the German financial website Handelsblatt.

The factory shutdown affects the production of several models that are popular in this country. Communications manager at the Norwegian Volkswagen importer, Harald A. Møller, Lars Joakim Hanssen says in an e-mail to DinSide that it is a little too early to say whether this will affect Norwegian customers.

– But several measures are being taken to ensure that full production can be resumed as soon as possible. Like the rest of the world, we are following the situation closely.
