The Kaluga plant has not been producing Volkswagen Tiguan crossovers in Russia for a long time, but such cars come to our market through parallel imports. And sometimes these are not quite the Tiguans that we are used to.
For example, in China they sell an analogue of this model, but with the name Tayron. It is slightly different from the Tiguan in appearance and dimensions, but in fact it is its local counterpart. On the eve it turned out that such a “SUV” in the “Celestial Empire” has a new version.
The VW Tayron is produced in China by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture. It announced the imminent appearance on sale in the country of a version of this model with the prefix Black Volcano Edition. Such crossovers differ from simple Tyrons in a special black body color with a volcanic matte texture.
Almost all the details turned out to be black in the exterior of the car, except for nameplates: this is the radiator grille, air ducts, and even exhaust pipes.
As for the interior, the crossover almost completely matches the interior of a simple Tayron with a three-spoke steering wheel, digital instrument cluster, multimedia system with a touch screen, but differs by the presence of exclusive orange stitching distributed over the front panel and seats.
They are going to sell a special version of the Chinese Tiguan analogue with a 2-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 220 horsepower (350 Nm), which will be coupled with a 7-speed “robot” with two clutches and all-wheel drive.
In the Chinese market, Tayron Black Volcano Edition will compete with Buick Envision, Volkswagen Tiguan L, Hongqi HS5 and BYD Frigate 07. Its price, depending on the version, will be from 204 thousand 900 to 259 thousand 900 yuan (2.6 – 3.3 million rubles). ).
