Redesigned both inside and out, with standard LED headlights, many engines to choose from, albeit unfortunately not electric, and the new set-up R-Line! Let’s see how the T-Roc in this version 2022.
Design and Interior
The front it has a more aggressive style and the LEDs of the daytime running lights are placed vertically while we find a chrome strip that joins the right and left headlights even if it is not a real light strip. The headlights are standard LEDs on all versions and as an option you can have the Matrix LEDs, in this case that chrome strip turns into a real horizontal LED strip.
the engines there are many available, both petrol and diesel, starting with petrol 1,000cc, 1,500 (110 hp), 2,000 (300 hp and 4-wheel drive) and up to 2,000 diesel engines with 115 or 150 horsepower. Unfortunately, no electric or electrified versions.
Sideways it shows itself as a very compact car, the length is 425 centimeters and I really like the choice to put the roof in another color already standard. The rims of the trial version are gods 19″ with 225/40 tires but in any case we start from 16 ″ alloy wheels.
Behind the same goes for the front, new restyling and a more aggressive, nastier look. There is the easy open to open the baule moving the foot under the bumper which reveals a capacity of 445 liters which by folding down the 40/60 seats become almost 1,300.
We find the most important changes of this T-Roc 2022 inside, where Volkswagen has made everything more premium improving i door panels with softer materials and completely redesigning the dashboard, also now with much more pleasant materials both to the eye and to the touch. THE seats they are very well cared for and comfortable even if the electric adjustment is only optional.
As we said before, it is a very compact car, a little shorter even than Golf e behind is affected at the level of space but only when the front occupants push the seats far back, otherwise you are still comfortable and headroom is not lacking. There are also air conditioning vents, USB-C ports, armrest and ISOFIX attachments.
Test Drive
The test version is the one with a petrol engine from 1.500cc 4-cylinder combined with automatic transmission DSG a 7 reportsa great change, as always.
I like that the adaptive cruise control and that, combined with the DSG, it reaches 0km / h and starts again. I tried it in the city and once again I appreciated the calibration of these Volkswagen ADAS, always well done and able to make the driving with stop and restart soft and fluid.
The consumption in city is about 12 km / l, a 130km/h it drops to about 14 km / l and in general I can say that I have found it more efficient than other Volkswagens with the same engine and gearbox.
Not bad tootrim, which makes it capable of absorbing the roughness of the city despite the 19 ″ rims and of remaining stable and safe even at cornering speeds. Convincing!
In highway i also tested lane assist, correcting direction by actively turning the steering, e front assist, both once again well tuned, just like the adaptive cruise.
Conclusions and Prices
We come to the big question. How much? It starts from 26.600 euro, the R-line part of 29.300 euro and the specimen in he tries costa 39.000 euro. I like that adaptive cruise, lane assist, LED headlights and digital dashboard are standard on all versions. What are the differences with Taigo? The first is that the Taigo is built on the Polo platform while the latter on the Golf platform. The second is represented by the much greater variety of engines on the T-Roc.
This I liked T-Roc really so much for the driving dynamics, the feeling of safety and how as soon as you get on it you can immediately put yourself at ease but .. take the R-line!
