Volkswagen returned to Russia through China, but does not admit – Die Zeit: EADaily

The German car giant Volkswagen entered the Russian market in July this year with the Jetta car brand. The newspaper Die Zeit reports this.

Volkswagen said it has “no idea” about business in Russia.

“It doesn’t seem very plausible that such a move would be possible without Volkswagen’s expertise,” – writes the newspaper mentioned by UNIAN.

The Jetta brand – analogues of converted cars from other Volkswagen brands – was originally created for the Chinese market. Jetta even has an official website in the Russian Federation – Jetta Motors Russia, registered under the Russian subsidiary of the company – Volkswagen’s partner in China. However, the site stopped working after Die Zeit correspondents sent a request to the German company.
